Enjoying MG April 2019

The weather is at last starting to become warmer but with so little rain this past winter I think that we will be in trouble with the reservoirs being low. Last club night we had our annual film & buffet night.

The great turn out meant we had a good choice of films. Being a car

club one would assume that the choice would be car related, but not this

year! The great Freddie Mercury won and we were entertained with the

magnificent Bohemian Rhapsody.

A great evening was enjoyed by all. Thanks for putting on another great buffet Janet, 95% of it was eaten on the night and what was left went home for lunch the next day. Chatham Dockyard's annual steam festival at Easter was blessed with the hottest day of the year so far, even though it felt chilly in the wind we all went home with much redder faces than we came with! For those of you who have never been to this brilliant event you're missing a real treat.
There are so many things to do.

You can climb onboard old sailing ships and submarines, watch steam loco's and rope making, visit galleries, and lifeboats. You can go on a tour from 'Call The Midwife' as this is where it is filmed and if you've never been introduced to Steam Punk then this is a great place to experience it and of course there is a huge selection of classic vehicles to see.

Drive it Day was organised by Bob & Midge Lester when 17 of us took a leisurely drive through the Kent countryside and finished with a great meal at The Wagon & Horses in Charing. We are looking forward to meeting up with old friends and new ones as the season takes off.
