Enjoying MG May 2016

On Saturday 21st May six cars went to the Chilham Castle 400 years celebrations. Certainly a beautiful location for a car show.

On Sunday 22nd May nine members went the annual Faversham Transport show, which has now been going for 21 years. An early start was required so that we could get a good position in the car park, which meant meeting at 8.00am at Macknade’s car park. A big disappointment for the faithful was that the eat as much as you like Chinese restaurant is now closed, however the Raj Indian restaurant banquet menu proved to be an excellent replacement.

On Saturday 28th May eight cars went to the Canterbury Cathedral open gardens. This is always a great favourite with members with six gardens open to the public, which only occurs on two days a year. Despite a dull start the weather tuned out be sunny and warm.

Looking forward to events in July, please make a note that we will not be at the Halfway House for our 12th July meeting, but at the Jackdaw Inn Denton. Anyone requiring directions please let me know.

Several other shows are taking place in July. Worth noting are our annual treasure hunt on 3rd July starting from The Halfway House, the Darling Buds of May on 10th July, Sheldwich fete on Saturday 16th July and Herne Bay Classic Car Show on 17th July.

Don’t forget that on 31st July we have our Invicta run, which starts at 10.00am from Macknade Fine Foods car park on the A2 opposite the Shell Garage and finishes, after a 50 mile run, at Hawkinge Battle of Britain Museum. There will be refreshments available at the start from 9.00am. At the time of writing places are still available.
